OWH Sketch #58
My son moved back home temporarily so my craft room is in upheaval, halfway moved upstairs. I am having trouble functioning in the disorder! The measurements on this card (and the cutting) aren't exact and straight, but I remembered I've always wanted to try the open border line that I first saw on Jan Hunnicutt's cards! I just used a black pen. I think it enhances the focal point and adds a touch of elegance; I'll definitely do it again. I colored the tiny grape stamps with Prismacolor pencils; I realized the stamp is probably too small to try to color!
Thanks for stopping by! Take care.

Tutorial: Embossed Flower technique
A very talented OWH card maker, Pam, recently posted a beautiful card in which paper flowers were embossed with the cardstock. I loved it; it reminded me of an old-fashioned bedspread. So, I was delighted to see a tutorial today at OWH www.owhstarsandstamps.org!
My first attempt ended in File 13, lol. I don't have a flourish stamp (shopping trip!!) so I drew a few stems and leaves. I also colored them with Marvy markers. When I get a flourish stamp, I'll try the black & white technique Pam used for the flourish because I love that style. This is a REALLY fun technique with lots of possibilities! Thanks, Pam!

Little doll card for Cora
This sweet little vintage doll image is from Digital Two for Tuesday a little while back. I hope this card brings a bit of sunshine to Cora, who brings these wonderful images to us.

This week's Hambo Hoedown: Pelican - digi!
This fun Pelican-digi is from www.hambostamps.com. This week's challenge is to use blue, brown and tan and a beach theme. I colored the pelican with Prismacolor pencils and picked up this cute little set of beachy stickers at JoAnn's to help set the beach mood.

Masculine card: Midweek Throwdown at OWH

OWH Sketch #56
I made this Easter card with my little digi (still available if you'd like it). I turned the sketch upside down and I was going to make a nice bow at the top, but the ribbon gave me fits. I don't know if was me or the ribbon, but I finally gave up on a bow. At the rate this ribbon unravels, it might be gone by the time Dixie receives it, argh! Then, to top it off, I got inky fingers on the white card. One of those days!

Hambo football challenge!
Hambo Stamps posted this adorable digi and has a football challenge going on this week www.hambochallenges.blogspot.com ! As I was born and raised in the city of Washington, DC (3rd or 4th generation), I just have to support my home team -- the Redskins, the burgundy & gold! They had another tough year, but there's always next year! Hope springs eternal among 'Skins fans!
I colored the digi with Prismacolor pencils. This is the first time I've used Glossy Accents (on the helmets). I may have overdone it, haha.
Go over to Hambo and check out the challenges and prizes, as well as their very funny and cute digis.

Sketch #54
I love this little free digi from Sliekje and had fun coloring it with my Prismacolor pencils. I thought it would be cute with the ladybug paper as bg, but I think they look kind of big and scary compared to the tiny ones on the digi, lol! This was a challenging sketch, but I got some great perspective and ideas from looking at everyone else's posts that will help me next time!!
