OWH Sketch 181

Welcome! Here is this week's sketch at Operation Write Home:
This one is definitely a challenge! Using plaid paper on a sketch like this helps me line up the little pieces of paper and strips better. The image is a Lockhart stamp I colored and painted with watercolor pencils.  Here's my card:

Coffee card for a guy

The Midweek Throwdown Challenge at OWH Stars & Stamps blog is masculine cards. I will also post this at the ODBD monthly challenge, which is to use real or faux stitching.
Image: Inkadinkado wood-mounted stamp
Sentiment: Wood-mounted stamp by Judith
DP: Oxford Collection 6x6 pad
Copics
Cuttlebug Argyle embossing folder
Ranger Distress Ink
"Newspaper" scrap: stash

I had a little "oops" moment when I was doing the faux stitching, so I put a button there. I decided to repeat it with another button by the banner. Thanks for stopping by!

Hambo challenge: use office supplies

Welcome! I used this fun Hambo digital stamp called "Bad Connection" for this week's Hoedown challenge to use office supplies. It's a great image for "Missing You" cards for Operation Write Home to send to the troops. I love this vintage electric fan DP from Echo Park and the brown stripe reminds me of a few laminate desk tops I saw during my working years! I punched a big circle and then the little circles and put the Echo Park number paper behind it just to give an impression of an old-fashioned rotary dial. I popped the "dial" up with foam mounting tape.
Image and Sentiments: Hambo Stamps digital stamp "Bad Connection"
DP's: Echo Park "This & That" 6x6 pad (fan, numbers and brown striped paper--that reminded me of a laminate desktop and I love that old fan paper!!) and Prima "Divine" (ledger type page made into a tag)
Copics
Tim Holtz Reinforcements
Staples, paper clips, binder clip (I will take off the binder clip before shipping to OWH--too thick)
Shipping tag string

I really enjoy this kind of challenge; thanks, Hambo! And thanks for stopping by Bits of Cheer.

Sketch #180 at Operation Write Home

My wonderful son was able to remove the virus from my laptop--bless him! I was afraid to link anything to my blog. Hope it doesn't happen again :(  . Here's my card for OWH Sketch #180; I thought this sentiment was perfect for the popsicle paper:
Sentiment: Wood-mounted rubber stamp by Hampton Art (one of the first stamps I bought)

Ranger Distress Ink: Broken China

Red, White & Blue (& Kraft)

This card is for both this week's Hambo challenge (red, white and blue) and the recent Midweek Throwdown at OWH (red, white and blue and kraft). I had a little difficulty posting & sizing this one because I had to scan it instead of photographing it. I'm having blog trouble on my laptop so I had to use our other computer! Only know how to download my photos on my laptop :(   !!!
The digi is Racecar by Hambo Stamps. I love that they've added several little add-on images to the digi version that you can decorate the racecar with!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a good week. Sherry

Hambo Challenge: use a map

For my card, I used this week's sketch #179 at Operation Write Home:

The challenge at Hambo this week is to incorporate a map into your project and Hambo's new Pirate digi (free to all who danced in the Hambo Hoedown last week) or another stamp or image of your choice. (It has to be a Hambo product to win a prize.).  Pirate digi comes with 3 sentiments and I thought this would be funny for a hero to send home to a guy for his birthday:

Map: from a 12x12" sheet called "Out of Print"
BG dp: My Mind's Eye "Floral Bleu" 6x6" pad
Copics
Candi adhesive dots (center one colored with Copics)
Thanks so much for stopping by!
