Hambo's Time Machine Hop: Back to the '80's!

Welcome to my stop on "Hambo's Time Machine" blog hop! Today Hambo Stamps' friends and the Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you fun creations that depict something cool from the 1980's! It might be a favorite book, news item, fashion fad, song, or something else that really stood out to us in looking back at the 80's! If you arrived here from the Hambo blog you're in the right place.

PRIZES!! One prize will be awarded to one participant whose 80's-themed creation tickles the Bacon Bits’ fancy in a hammin’ jammin’ way and another prize will be awarded randomly to a hopper who comments on all of the blogs along the way! Winners will be announced at the Hambo company blog, Talk to the Ham, on Wednesday, September 25, as well as at the Hambo Hoedown challenge blog. Hambo loves comments any time, but the deadline for prize entry comments is Sunday, September 22 at 5 PM CST. Don't miss it!

Now, for my hop creation! My memories of the 1980's center around raising our son, Brian! I thought back on the cartoons, toys and books that he liked and how I could use Hambo images to represent one of Brian's favorites in a fun way. My card recalls a certain rowdy crew of animated characters that my son loved as a little boy:

Card ingredients:
Hambo Digital Stamps: Turtles  and  Buildings/Ledge
Copics
Word-generated billboard and sentiment
Alphabet rubber stamps
Ranger Distress Ink: Sage
DP: Little Yellow Bicycle Fern & Forest

Did you guess? My card is based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, those fun "Heroes on a Half-Shell!" The first TMNT comic book came out in 1984, the year my son was born. The TV cartoon series started in 1987  and aired for 10 years (Wikipedia). So Brian grew up a TMNT fan, with all the requisite Halloween costumes, action figures, karate lessons, etc.!

I wanted the turtle image to stand out , so I just added touches of color to the background digi.  Pizza is the TMNT's food of choice and I think that narrow window on the background digi is PERFECT for a pizza sign! Yes, I know there are 4 TMNT's but you can never have too many turtles at a party, right?

Now, swing on over to LYN for another great trip back to the 80's that will jog your memory or show you something you missed! Have fun! Thanks for stopping by; hope you had fun at my blog! Please leave a comment! I appreciate it and you will be eligible for a prize if you comment at all the blogs on the hop!!  And thanks to Hambo Stamps for another creative themed hop!

Brilliant Sherry! I love your combination of images - especially how you incorporated the pizza shop. A perfect representation of an 80s icon. Cowabunga!
