Welcome to the "Green Eggs and ... Hambo" blog hop sponsored by Hambo Stamps! Today, customers and the Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you fun creations that depict book titles! It might be our favorite book or just one that was fun to design. If you arrived here from STEPHANIE's blog you are in the right place; if not, you may want to start back at the beginning at (I'm having trouble with a couple of these links so I'll type the blog addy) http://www.hambostamps.blogspot.com to make sure you are eligible for the hopper prize! A prize will be awarded randomly to a hopper who comments on all the blogs along the way. Winners will be announced at the Hambo Hoedown blog, http://www.hambochallenges.blogspot.com as well as on the Hambo Stamps blog (http://www.hambostamps.blogspot.com). Sorry about those links; will try again to fix them!
So here's my card; can you guess the title of the book I chose?
Did you figure it out? Here's another photo with the big reveal (you can tell that I watch HGTV a lot, lol):
Anne of Green Gables, written by Lucy Maud Montgomery in 1908, was one of my favorite books when I was a girl. My Mom and Dad gave me these books in the Anne series and I treasure them!
In making my card, I wanted to show Wee Henrietta being transported through her imagination to a house called Green Gables far away on Prince Edward Island, just as I once was!
I used two Hambo digital images; click on the name of the stamp to go to the correct page at the Hambo digistore:
Wee Henrietta Bookworm - Digi WH-06
House - Digi MC-11
This card is 5x7", unlike my usual A2 size that I make for OWH, but the larger size was easier to work with for this purpose.
Card recipe:
DPs - My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary 6x6 Designer Paper Pad
Stampin' Up embossing folder
Copic Sketch markers
Ranger Broken China Distress Ink
Thought balloon - hand drawn
Sentiment - computer-generated
Glossy Accents
The book title character, Anne Shirley, has bright red hair, so I colored Wee Henrietta's hair to match. Little Anne is tormented with the nickname "Carrots" by her schoolmate, Gilbert Blythe, who grows up to be her true love, sigh...
Thanks for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my card and have lots of fun on the Green Eggs and ... Hambo hop! Don't forget to comment at each blog so you have a chance for a prize. Now, dance on over to LESLIE! for another great card!

Ahhh...a very cute card! And a great book to choose!
I've never read the book (yet - gasp!) but I knew immediately which book had inspired you! I'm making a list of books I need to read, and this one is going right on it! Thanks for the little story summary, which piqued my interest! :)
Wow, that is fantastic!
Sherri, wonderful card and your coloring is terrific. Thanks for sharing.
Very cute and creative card!!!
What a great great card! I love the girl in the chair - it reminds me of the girl in the huge rocking chair on Rowan & Martins Laugh In - hehe shows my age. Anyway, great job coloring - I love seeing people I know in a blog hop!
What a fun card Sherry. I don't believe I ever read that book. Your little red head girl is a doll. I used to walk home a mile from the library though with as many books as they would let me check out. I remember doing that as far back as the third grade.
I am so kicking myself for not knowing about this earlier! what a fun, fun, fun hop! Great job on the book cover too!
What a fun concept these themed hops are. Anne of Green Gables is my mom's favorite. Terrific card for this creative hop Sherry.
I love the design of this card! Very clever!
I guessed it! I guessed it! Love her little house, perfect wallpaper and cozy chair. Such a fun card. It would be great with a gift of the book.
So sweet! I hope someday my own little girl will be sitting in a big chair diving into Anne of Green Gables! :-)
What an adorable card! Tremendous card! One of my favorite series when I was growing up. Your card is right on the mark. FANTASTIC!
