Clean & Simple Cardmaking Class - Day 3

One of the tutorials today is a card similar to this where you make diecuts and then layer them til they are thick like chipboard, and use a monochromatic palette. I don't have any suitable dies yet, so I used the butterfly punch. In the tutorial, the die cuts overhang the edges and she trimmed them, but I didn't want to even attempt to trim my butterflies. I was afraid they were too thick or the layers might peel apart! Besides, they're not that big and I thought it would look funny to have them off the page. At first I thought I couldn't add the little layered dots that are on the sample, then I remembered the little circles that are part of the Stampin' Up Owl punch! So I used them. The result is a very pretty card that I hope stays glued together on its way to our heroes! Thanks for visiting!

Love those butterflies - you did a good job with the layering :)

Oh my, Sherry, you are REALLY getting good at these CAS cards. How did you do the sentiment? Did you stamp it in white? It almost looks like it was printed in white on the yellow paper somehow. You should write up a tutorial for OWH about how to do those die cut/punch layers - not sure I quite understand it, but I love the result!

I love how this turned out! The yellow is SO happy and the pop you got from the layers is awesome!
