Steamroller gatefold birthday card

This week's challenge at the Hambo Hoedown, sponsored by Hambo Stamps, is to make a gatefold card using the new Steamroller digi. It was the first time I made a gatefold, so that made this a new challenge for me. I decided to paper piece the steamroller; all that fussy cutting probably made my idea harder to carry out, lol. But I like the way the striped paper with the bow kinda looks like a birthday present being squished. The DSPs are Bazzill Basics Grandma's Feather Bed. That is a good heavy duty double sided DSP pack I've gotten a lot of use out of.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

HAHA - What a great idea to make the card look like a flat present! This turned out so cute. I doubt anyone would have guessed it was your first gate-fold. :)

Nice job Sherry! Did you post it to the OWH paper piecing tutorial too? I hope so.

Thanks for sharing!

I tried to get to your blog when you posted the other card with the steamroller image, but I couldn't. Did you post it and then delete it? It was so cute! The stripes on it looked like the road he was driving on. I was laughing though because it didn't look like a gate fold card. This one is really cute, too! I love that Bazzill patterned paper. I have a little 6x6 stack of it. Wish I had more!
