BROADWAY BOUND! Hambo Bloghop 9-21-12!

Welcome to the "Broadway Bound" blog hop, sponsored by Hambo Stamps! Today, Hambo customers like me and Hambo's Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you fun creations that depict Broadway show titles! It might be our favorite show, or just one that was fun to design as a card. If you arrived here from Dawn's show you're in the right place. If not, you may want to start back at the beginning at the HAMBO BLOG just to make sure you are eligible for a prize. And now on with the show!! Here's my Broadway creation; hope you enjoy it!
Did you guess Singin' in the Rain? Adapted from the 1952 film, the stage version Singin' in the Rain! played first in London and then on Broadway at the George Gershwin Theatre in 1985-86. This show has a special place in my heart because it was one of the shows my son worked on as technical director in his high school and college years. Brian rigged up a way for it to "rain" on stage without getting the stage floor wet! Hambo's Stage digi was the perfect starting point for this Broadway project! I colored it with Copics. And Hambo's "Cupcake Rain" digi reminds me of Debbie Reynolds in the film version wearing her yellow slicker! I created a slicker here by covering the yellow coat with Glossy Accents. I substituted part of Cupcakes digi with a backdrop using two of the umbrella flowers in the "April Showers" digi stamp. For a bit of vocal accompaniment--in harmony with my "garden" setting--I put a spotlight on the one and only Hambo "Singing Bug", . Isn't he cute? I drew the spotlight, colored and cut it out. I colored Singing Bug with Copics. I found the awesome sheet music background paper online (Free Vintage Digi Stamps); it looks like it's been drenched in the rain! The shadow image on the right panel of Gene Kelly's famous dance number is one I found online, traced and cut out. The collage paper on the front panel of my card is from 7 Gypsies. I made the "Stage Door" sign with Inspired Stamps' Labelmaker Alphabet set. Rhinestones are set to look like footlights! Here are photos of the 3 inside panels of the card, just in case you'd like a closer look!
Hope you enjoyed my Broadway card! Thanks for another fun themed bloghop, Hambo! And now for the really important PRIZE info: BLOGHOP PRIZES & COMMENT DEADLINES! A prize will be awarded to one participant whose Broadway-themed creation tickles the Bacon Bits' fancy in a hammin' jammin' way! Another prize will be awarded randomly to a hopper who comments on all of the blogs along the way! The winners will be announced at the Hambo company blog, Talk to the Ham, on Tuesday, September 25. Hambo loves comments anytime, but the deadline for prize entry comments is Sunday September 23 at 5 PM CST. Don't miss it! And NOW, on to your next stop on the Great White Way: the fabulous JAN! Enjoy the hop!

Great job Sherry! I love the tickets on the front and how it unfolds to reveal it's details. This is one of my all-time favorite shows and having seen a live performance, I have to say seeing it rain inside is truly memorable.
