Hoedown challenge: Reduce, Reuse, Recyle!

Here is the cute new Goat digi from Hambo Stamps, free to all who danced in the Hoedown challenge last week. What I like about the Hoedown is the different creative challenge each week! This week we're challenged to recycle something we have into a card: Still scanning my cards as I wait for my camera:
When I think Recycle I head for my kitchen and my recycling basket. I found a brown paper Outback bag, which I tore up, distressed, and inked. I like the mushrooms & veggies printed on it as well as the red Recycle symbol. The little scrap of lined paper is from one of those grocery list pads I get from various organizations. I decided to try placing part of the (Hambo) sentiment peeking out from a turned-down, stapled corner of grocery bag. Heart stamp from my stash. That's a Tim Holtz circle reinforcer and I used the Marvy Uchida button punch. The little goat is colored with Copics and Glossy Accents. This was a fun challenge; thanks, Hambo! And thanks, friends, for stopping by.

OWH Midwk Throwdown: Sweet Summertime!

I love this image from Free Vintage Digi Stamps. I lightly colored it with Prismacolor pencils.
We are having another day of April showers here in northern Virginia; this image makes me want to head to the shore for some warm sun and sand! I might use this sweet digi again just in black & white, with touches of red. Thanks for stopping by!

OWH Sketch 118

Here is my card for OWH Sketch 118:
I had not gotten my Stampin' Up owl punch out in a long time. It's so much fun to paper piece. The sentiment is Stampendous from Michael's. DP is My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Market Street. I'm having better luck with my scanner today, thank goodness. Thanks for stopping by!

Hambo Candles

My camera is still in the shop and I thought I was making progress learning how to use this scanner but no luck today!! Sorry about all the white space on this scan; it's downright embarrassing! The new Hambo digi is Candles; we are challenged this week to use 4 things. The polka dot DP has 4 colors, which ispired me to use 4 colors on the candles-yellow, green, purple and blue.
The sentiment is also from Hambo; the second half of the sentiment "To wish you a happy birthday" is on the inside of the card. I'm having so much difficulty with scanning today I'm not even going to try to scan the inside! Fingers crossed my camera will be home soon. Thanks for visiting! Have a good week.

OWH Midweek Throwdown: turquoise & brown

Clear Stamp: INSPIRED STAMPS
Kraft and turquoise cardstock
DP: "Stella Rose" Hattie Papers 6x6 pad, My Mind's Eye
Copics
Glossy Accents
Martha Stewart heart punch

Well, I'm getting a bit better at the scanning, it seems; but I still prefer photography! I had so much fun paper piecing and coloring this adorable stamp from Inspired Stamps! I like to enhance those big eyes with Glossy Accents, which shows up better on a photo or in person!

OWH Sketch challenge

I'm not sure how I did it but I scanned my card and uploaded. I say I'm not sure because we have a new printer and it was trial and error for me getting it to scan! I will be glad when my camera gets out of the shop! I followed this week's OWH sketch and used an animal stamp so I could post it for the Our Daily Bread Designs challenge. Sorry if you can't see this card very well!

Hambo fun!

The challenge at the Hambo Stamps Hoedown this week is to use plaids and/or multiple patterns. I used Hambo's new Nerd digi. Hambo Stamps is also one of the sponsors of the Make 'Em Laugh bloghop over at OWH today; I think this card definitely falls into the chuckle category!

I made an easel card; here it is closed:
And open:

I may have achieved plaid/pattern overload, but I think it's kind of cute! This cute little Nerd digi grows on you!

DPs: "Americana" by K&Company
Glossy Accents
Copics

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks Dad!

A hero might like to send this card home to Dad, whether or not Dad was or is in the military; I just really wanted to use this cute digi, lol! It's by Nikki Casassa at MelonHeadz Illustrating

Father's Day card

Here is Operation Write Home's new sketch, #116:

I made this Father's Day card for OWH:

This little fisherman rubber stamp is one of the first stamps I purchased when I started cardmaking in 2010. The DPs are MME Lost & Found "Breeze"; the button is made with my button punch, which I haven't gotten out in awhile. I hope a hero's Dad or friend will enjoy this on Father's Day!
Have a good week; thanks for stopping by!

One for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club challenge

I love My Favorite Things stamps and I finally got around to making a card for their weekly sketch challenge. Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

I used the MFT Pure Innocence "Aim High" set; DPs are from "Viola" by Memory Box. Pure Innocence stamps lend themsselves well to paper piecing, which I enjoy doing.
I need a bigger scalloped border punch/die, that's for sure. I used my Stampin' Up Boho Punch to make the flowers. I added some Glossy Accents to give her shiny purple shoes.
This is a 6x6 square card; I'm used to making A2 sized cards for Operation Write Home so I was a bit unsure with (as a friend recently put it) the extra "real estate", lol!
Thanks for visiting!

Hello Handsome! Vintage b'day card for a guy.

My card is for Sugar Creek Hollow's challenge this week, which is to make vintage birthday cards:

Here's the inside, with a birthday sentiment (sorry I can't get this photo to turn in the right direction, lol!

This image is a freebie from Free Vintage Digital Stamps. The cool thing is that it's provided in either blue or sepia color. I thought the blue version would look very sharp with these DPs. This is the first time I've used this new sentiment from Hero Arts, and I think it's great fun with this image!

Image: Free Vintage Digital Stamps
Sentiment: Hero Arts!!
DPs: Glitz
Antique brad: Stampin' Up
I added the "amber" rhinestone as a pop of color that picks up the distress ink colors.
Come back soon!

Extra, Extra! Read all about it!

This card is for this week's Hambo Hoedown challenge! The fun new "Paperboy" digi was a freebie for all who danced in the Hoedown last week, so check out the fun if you haven't already!
Our challenge this week was to use an "extra fold" in our card. I folded and popped up the newspaper in his hand, and I also cut a slit and tucked 3 tiny folded newspapers in his bag!

The background DP is MME Lost & Found Portobello Road. I colored the image with Copics, cut it out and popped it up. Thanks for stopping over!

Two Dad's Day cards

I made two Father's Day cards today, using OWH Sketch #115. Here's the sketch:

For the above card I used DP from another awesome My Mind's Eye "Lost & Found" pad -- this one's called "Breeze". It's official; I'm addicted to these little MME paper pads!! They are fantastic. The train is just a part of one of the DPs--I think it makes a great focal point -- and the sentiment is from Inkadinkado's "Happy Everything" set.

This card uses papers from my stash, the same sentiment stamp, and the ducks are Stampscapes "Loons in H20" rubber stamp.
This is a great sketch to play with!
Thanks for visiting; I love company!
