OWH Sketch 157; BirdieBrown robot

Hi. I used OWH Sketch 157 and the digi I just got from BirdieBrown's Etsy store. Here's the sketch:
I watched Sandy Allnock's show yesterday on StageIt where she showed us how to color this little robot in either cool grays or warm grays. I used my limited collection of Warm Gray Copics to color the little robot. The DP is "Yours Truly" by Glitz.
Thanks for stopping by! If you're a Downton Abbey fan, enjoy the show tonight!

OWH Midweek Throwdown: Easter cards

Welcome! I used a little Hampton Arts wood-mounted stamp and colored the bunnies like Peeps. I had just this scrap of ribbon left, enough to make a tiny bow. I thought a hero's child would like the multi-colored bunnies!
We had a little bit of snow in Arlington, VA, today. Hope it's not too cold where you are!! Thanks for visiting.

Hambo Hoedown challenge

The Hambo Hoedown challenge this week is to make a round card with swirls and spirals on it. This challenge was inspired by Hambo's new digi, Plate-Spinner. I decided to make an easel round card, which I'd never tried before.
I colored Plate-Spinner with Copics; Provocraft Swirls ef; My Favorite Things swirl flower die; Spellbinders star-trimmed circle die; Stickles. I had trouble applying the Stickles (bottle was almost empty) but once I started I had to keep going. Then I dragged something over the card before the Stickles were dry, argh. So I'm not happy with the Stickles but overall the card seems to have a lot of swirling movement! I chose that sentiment from the 3 that come with the digi because I thought it was pretty ironic with all that's going on in my card! Thanks for stopping by; have a great weekend.

Calling all magnet collectors!

I loved the new Hambo "Refrigerator" digi as soon as I saw it. It was a freebie to all who danced in the Hambo Hoedown last week, but you can purchase it at Hambo Stamps. Each time I travel anywhere, I try to buy a magnet; they all end up on my fridge door:
The challenge at Hambo this week is to use "Leftovers", perfect for the fridge digi. I've had this scrap of DP for ages, hoping to use it again. I wanted to make the sentiment look like a magnet, so I added Glossy Accents and popped it up.
Thanks for stopping by, and thanks to Hambo for another fun digi and challenge!

Cute colleen in green

Hello! The Midweek Throwdown at OWH is to use green. I used the cute "Cafe Lizzie" digi by Whimsie Doodles; the sentiment is a wood-mounted rubber stamp from Judith. I colored with Copics and stampd the tiny daisy onto the coffee cup because it needed something and I didn't have any words that tiny! DP is MME Lost & Found "Breeze" 6x6.
Thanks for stopping by!

Sketch 155 and cute Melonheadz rag doll!

I was tickled to see that Nikki at Melonheadz Illustrating, has started a new digi series called "Raggie Babies". I have always loved Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. I used Nikki's pre-colored version of her first digi in the series. I followed OWH Sketch 155, altho I had to put my ribbon lower down on the card.
Here's my card; I love these colors against the kraft bg:
I also used the Darice hearts ef and an SRM sticker. Thanks, Nikki, for this cute digi! Looking forward to the rest of the series! Thanks for stopping by.

CELEBRATING: OWH reaches 2 MILLION card mark!

Sandy Allnock, president of Operation Write Home, just announced that OWH hit TWO MILLION CARDS! That's two million handmade cards shipped to our troops deployed in combat zones for them to write home on! Sandy made the announcement along with this fantastic new song and touching slideshow! Wow! Way to go, Sandy and OWH'ers everywhere! I can't even really wrap my brain around a number as huge as two million! I think of all the hard work it took Sandy and our shippers to prepare, sort, pack and ship that many cards. They are my heroes, too! I celebrated by making a card with one of my favorite MelonHeadz digis of a soldier bear. There's no sentiment, so I'm posting it for the Midweek Throwdown Challenge:
I paper-pieced the card with kraft paper and Doodlebug Design, Inc.'s "Boys Only" 6tx6 paper pad. I love that DP, which includes the cool camo that I used. Onward and upward, OWH! God bless our heroes and their families.
