OWH Weekly Sketch challenge

Hello! Here is this week's OWH sketch followed by my card:

DP: A 12x12 sheet by Webster's Pages from AC Moore

OWH color challenge: brown

I made this card right before I watched Sandy's OWH TV video asking us to concentrate on other themes besides "Thinking of You"! I made it for the color challenge, which is "brown." The little horseshoe was on a tag that I had bought. The DP was a single sheet that I got at AC Moore and I did not save the name of it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Tic Tac Toe challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow!

Today is the beginning of a new two-week challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow and it's a Tic Tac Toe challenge.  We have a very talented Guest Designer joining us: Heidi Augustson "Filharmonica". As you probably know, her work is gorgeous so stop by her blog and say hello!

At the SCH blog you will find a chart from which you pick a row of 3 elements (vertically, horizontally or diagonally) to use on your vintage or shabby chic creation. I chose "pearls, flowers, die cuts"; here's my card:

Die cut/stamp set: "Simply Jane" by PaperTrey Ink (frame, silhouette, sentiment)
Pearls, Flowers
Ranger Distress Ink: Wild Honey
Faux Stitching stamp: "Bind & Stitch" set by Inspired Stamp
Glossy Accents, ribbon from stash

"Pride and Prejudice" is my favorite book. Always has been. So I had to get this set and I love it! Have fun with your tic tac toe shabby or vintage creation and thanks for visiting.
Sherry

Note: my cards for Sugar Creek Hollow are usually too thick for Operation Write Home

MInnie Mouse with punches

After I made my card I realized the Midweek Throwdown challenge at OWH is Disney birthday cards for kids, so I will stamp Happy Birthday on the inside.  I didn't have any Disney images so, as Sandy suggested, I looked at Pinterest ideas and Disney images and then I decided to try to make something with punches. Here is my Minnie Mouse!

I used a two inch circle for the head; two one-inch circles for the ears; and three punched hearts for the face. I turned them this way and that to resemble Minnie's face. Her bows are made with the Martha Stewart butterfly punch, because I didn't have one nice big butterfly to make her bow with. The "Dream" sticker is from Glitz and remember:
"A dream is a wish your heart makes!"

Fun with OWH Sketch 220

This week's sketch is fun and it was pretty easy once my brain started clicking and I realized I didn't have to cut the paper to the correct angle--just turn it, duh. Here's a card I made for a soldier to send home to a sweetheart:

DP: Authentique
Sentiment: Stampin' Up (I had no luck with my blue pigment ink pad)
 Star brad: BoBunny

Thanks for stopping by; I hope you have a good week!

Card 2: Father's Day

Still working with Sketch 219, the Authentique DP and the Hero Arts OWH fund raiser stamp set, here's the other card I made:

The wildlife stamps in the Hero Arts "What A Guy" set are fantastic, PLUS it's an OWH fund raiser set. The "Happy Father's Day" is a little Inkadinkado stamp I've had forever.

First of two: a card for a guy

I made two cards today using OWH Sketch Challenge #219. Here is a general card for a guy; no sentiment inside so it could be used for love, friendship or even a Father's Day note. The vertical banner was added after a Pearl Pen oops. Note to self: allow Pearl Pen dots to DRY before you rest your hand on them!

Stamps: Eagle and Sentiment: Hero Arts OWH "What a Guy"
DP: Authentique "Something for All Seasons" 6x6 pad
Ranger Broken China distress ink
Pearl Pen

A Vintage Journey Challenge #3: A Little Bit French

Welcome, or should I say bonjour? I love the new challenge blog, A Vintage Journey. Their third challenge is "A Little Bit French." The design team's creations are so awesome!! I feel so far from their level, but I decided to just have fun with this theme, which I love. Here's my card:

Stamps: Crafty Individuals and Tim Holtz
Tim Holtz typewriter key stickers
Ranger Distress Inks
DP: Crate Paper, Echo Park
Glossy Accents

Thanks for visiting my blog! I look forward to your comments and come back soon.

ODBD Challenge for April: Insects

I chose this pretty butterfly DP and used last week's OWH sketch for my "Insect" card. The patterned papers are from Echo Park's "Times & Seasons 2" 6x6 pad:

This such a good sketch for showcasing patterned paper! Thanks for stopping by.

Father's Day cards

Welcome! I made two Father's Day cards, which is the current Midweek Throwdown theme at OWH, and used this week's sketch for the first one:

The next one started out to be based on the sketch but it kinda got changed around a bit out of necessity! Love this Fishing Basket stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs, which I just tinted lightly with Copics:

Thanks for stopping by; hope your weekend is going well!
