OWH MEMORIAL DAY BLOG HOP!

Thanks for visiting my stop on the ginormous OWH Memorial Day Blog Hop! It's such a great way for we card makers to honor our fallen heroes: sharing ideas and inspiration for the cards we make for heroes who are serving now. The theme of our hop is RED, WHITE AND BLUE. Here is my thank you card; it's very basic design based on OWH Sketch 68. I used one of my favorite techniques: paper piecing! I love Inspired Stamps' new "Hymn Girls" line and the faux stitching stamps in their "Bind and Stitch" set! FYI: the music imprinted on Hymn Girl's outfit is part of the clear stamp. I love it.

Stamps: Inspired Stamps "Hymn Girls: May Flowers" & "Bind and Stitch"
DP: Authentique "Pride" 6x6
Modern Label & Word Window punches: Stampin' Up
Sentiment: Memory Box rubber stamp
Ribbon: Paper Source
Star brads, Pearl Pen

We have a winner of my BLOG CANDY:  Ann Marie ! Please email me your snail mail address, Ann Marie!

Enjoy this wonderful blog hop! Have a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend!

This is a great card, with some techniques I've not used - the paper piecing which I've done once and stitching, which I could do if I went into the other room and used the sewing machine. Thank you for the inspiration! Sewing machine, here I come!

Me again - I just reread your post and see the stitching is a stamp - how clever of the person who designed that!!!

Hi, Sherry! :) I'm not familiar with that Hymn Girls line of stamps, but they look intriguing! I especially like how the musical score is incorporated into the image.
If I were lucky enough to win your book, I'd have a hard time deciding whether to keep it for myself or to donate it to our local elementary school's library!
