I was sad to see on Facebook today that the current challenge is the final one at the Hambo Hoedown, the challenge blog of Hambo Stamps. The challenge ends tomorrow so I made this quick card; I couldn't resist adding the little silver hearts with my gel pen, because I wanted to let the great folks at Hambo know how much I have loved being part of the Hoedown many times over the last 3 years!!
I have particularly loved their themed bloghops, and the lighthearted humor of Hambo Stamps! Enjoy the break, Monica and Tim, and thank you again!
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi! I made an AnyHero card with the new sketch at the OWH Stars & Stamps blog. More paper piecing and scraps from a Simple Stories 6x6 pad:
Image: My Favorite Things "Soldier Boy"

Have a good week; stay warm if you're in an area under the deep freeze like we are!

OWH Midweek Throwdown: Color challenge
Welcome! I decided to give Nancy's embossing/inking technique a try. I don't heat emboss very often and I don't use pastel colors very often, in fact I only have 3 ink pads that fit the bill! Nancy's technique is fun and I want to try it again. Here's my little pastel card: I hope you can see the tiny bit of embossing, hehe. DPs are Authentique "Something for all Seasons":
Thanks for visiting!

A new stamp & new OWH sketch!
It's so fun when you forget that you won blog candy and the package arrives at your door!! I received this beautiful Inkadinkado "Clock Wings" rubber stamp from Lynn R. in Alberta:
Thanks so much, Lynn!! I saw this week's new sketch at OWH and the wheels started (slowly) turning in my brain:
I decided to use my new Clock Wings for one of the circles. I tweaked the sketch a little!
I colored the stamp a little with Copics, fussy cut the image, and put Glossy Accents on the clock face. That's a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the yellow strip. The DP is from Glitz.
Thanks again for this beautiful stamp, Lynn!

Snowman challenge at Cards In Envy
The current challenge at Cards In Envy is to make flat (OWH-style) A2 cards featuring one or more snowmen! Even though we're beyond winter cards at OWH, I know that most of the winter is still ahead of us in Virginia so it was fun to play along and get out this cute little stamp.
Snowman rubber stamp: Studio 18
DP: Authentique "Something for all Seasons" 6x6
Snowflake punches, seam binding

"Sew...a needle pulling thread..."
Words 2 Scrap By is a brand new, fun challenge blog started by pals Sybrina and Bobbi, whom we know very well from their work for Operation Write Home. Their very first challenge is a fun one; create a card based on the lyrics of one of the songs in "The Sound of Music". Here's my card inspired by the words, "Sew...a needle pulling thread..." from the "Doe, a Dear" song:
Image: Digital Two for Tuesday
DPs: American Crafts Dots & Stripes; Melissa Frances C'est La Vie
Lace ribbon: stash
EK Border punch
Here is the inside of my card:

New OWH Sketch Challenge #207
Here is the new sketch at OWH Stars & Stamps blog:
Thanks for stopping by; have a good night!
Sherry
I decided to try using the new Hero Arts OWH stamp set, "What a Guy!" Here's my card:
Stamps: Hero Arts "What a Guy!"
DP: Authentique "Pride" 6x6
I thought the little mountain stamp in the set would make a neat border across the bottom of the two squares and the little strip on the right. I like how it turned out, but I'm not sure I like the black (ink and matting) against the red, white & blue...Might try different colors next time! This will be an AnyHero note. Thanks for stopping by; have a good night!

Hambo Hoedown challenge
The current challenge at the Hambo Hoedown is to use animal images. I used Hambo's sweet Floating Pig digi. Something about this cold dreary weather drew me toward spring colors!

Sentiment: Inspired Stamps' Labelmaker Alphabet
DP: Authentique "Something for all Seasons" 6x6
Prismacolor Pencils
Glossy Accents
Fiskars grass border punch

Used new stamp set from ODBD
This card is made with one of the stamp sets I chose from Our Daily Bread Designs for being a recent random winner in the monthly challenge at OWH! Isn't it great? The set is called "Special Boy" and there are 8 stamps in it. Not bad, eh? Fun to get a neat set for masculine cards: free!
My card is based on this week's OWH sketch, although I tweaked it a little:
I'm also posting at the January ODBD challenge, which is to use stripes. Do you think the checkered ribbon makes it too feminine? I was going for that checkered flag look but I'm not sure about the ribbon. The DP is "Postale 6x6" by 7 Gypsies; Candi dots colored with silver pen; Washi tape.

New challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow: "Something New"
Hello, welcome and Happy New Year! The first challenge of 2014 at Sugar Creek Hollow is "Something New" -- a newly acquired product, a new technique, etc. I decided to make a shabby chic card using the "Fine Day" collage rubber stamp by Alice Palace for Crafty Individuals Co. UK. First time I've used it, and I also used a background technique with Ranger Distress Inks that is recommended in a Crafty Individuals video on their blog.
Here's my creation for this fun two-week challenge at SCH:
