OWH Sketch 161/Mo Manning digi
Welcome! This is the cute Mo Manning digi that Sandy demonstrated in her coloring show on StageIt last Saturday. Keep your eye out for Sandy's next show; you will have fun and pick up a lot of Copic techniques. I still need more colors, but I tried to make do with what I have. The DP is My Mind's Eye Lost & Found "Sunshine". I used this week's OWH Sketch #161:
When I saw the yellow rose on a scrap of the Sunshine dp, I couldn't resist using it for a "photo corner". I think it adds a pretty touch that even a tomboy will like! Those are Candi paper "brads". Thanks for stopping by.

Hambo Hoedown challenge
Hi! The folks at Hambo released this fun new Frog Boy digi/sentiment set, free to all who danced in the Hoedown challenge last week! This week's challenge is to use "warts" or bumps in a card (you can use any Hambo digi or stamp). I embossed the green strip for the warts on my card:

1922 Hat Lady
I made this card with an image from Free Vintage Digi Stamps called "1922 Hat Lady." I designed it with several challenges in mind--the Glitz & Glam VCMP Challenge at OWH, the Stripes or Dots theme at Cards In Envy, and the vintage card challenge at A Blog Named Hero. I think the touches of pearls, the Glitz epoxy sticker and sheer ribbon definitely add glitz & glam. DPs are from "Love Me", a 6x6 My Mind's Eye pad. The image was pre-colored and I was drawn to its soft colors. Thanks for stopping by!
Three VCMP challenges
Hello! I'm still catching up with the OWH Virtual Cardmaking Party challenges; glad they are active for the rest of the week! It's a chilly, rainy day here in No. VA and a good day to stay in, so I finished 3 cards. The first is for Challenge #6, Things With Wheels. I used a cute Sliekje digi:
DP: "Wayfarer" 6x6 miniprints by Bazzill Basics Paper; Copics; Glossy Accents. Thanks to Linda, the challenge host!
My next card is for Challenge #7, Caffeine related cards! Whimsie Doodle's "Cafe Lizzie" digi is just great for this challenge:
DP: Paris & Co. 6x6 pad My Mind's Eye; Copics; turquoise Pearl Pen. Thanks to challenge host, Jen!
Challenge #9 is to make an All White or Cream card with 3 Layers. Here's my attempt:
Ranger Antique Linen distress ink; Martha Stewart butterfly punch; SU textured lattice embossing folder.
Thanks for coming by. See you soon.

A critter with wings
Hi! This little owl qualifies for two challenges at the OWH VCMP--critters and things with wings. So I will post him at both! I have a soft spot in my heart for the DCWV Green Stack; it's one of the first DP pads I bought when I started cardmaking in 2010.
Is anybody else having trouble with Blogger? I can't load the photos like I used to, where you can choose the size. Ack. I don't like change, lol. C u soon.

A fun little nun pun!
Hi! The Hoedown challenge at Hambo Stamps this week is clean & simple. I was wide awake in the middle of the night, so of course I started thinking about my current card projects and the idea hit me of how how funny it would be if the teacher had to write on the blackboard after school! (I was taught by nuns, so I think that entitles me to poke fun.) I couldn't figure out how to get white text on a black background, but I think this turned out pretty cute and blackboard-ish. On the inside it says "Happy Belated Birthday". Not sure if this is CAS enough, I sure had fun making it!

OWH Midweek Challenge: state flag colors
Hi! The Midweek Throwdown Challenge at OWH Stars and Stamps Blog is to use the colors of your state flag. Here is the Virginia flag:
The Virginia flag is actually the state seal, placed on a deep blue background. The seal was designed in 1776 by George Wythe, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. It depicts Virtue conquering Tyranny. There are quite a few colors in the flag--blues, purple, red-orange, green...so it was a challenge but I tried to bring in all the colors onto my card. I went with this gentle Whimsie Doodles image of a little guy holding a screwdriver and a toolbox! He's colored with Copics:
Seems like something's up with Blogger tonight re posting photos. Not good! Hope you have a good night and come back soon!

Paper piecing fun
Hi. I love it when I hear about a blog or stamp company for the first time; recently I learned about "A Blog Named Hero". Their current challenge is paper piecing, so I decided to use the Hero Arts OWH "Right At Home" set to paper-piece a little landscape.
This was SO much fun and there were no really difficult shapes to cut out; just some tiny pieces to glue on. I had these papers in my stash and I think they are from Memory Box. The background paper inspired me first, with its branches it makes a pretty sky. There are 4 different DPs; I like how the windows and door look like the sky is reflecting on glass. Someone recently used this stamp set posted at OWH (I think) and I loved the torn paper the cardmaker used for the grass. So I tore the paper here to make a little pathway. I added Pearl Pen to the little heart and inked various edges and between the fence posts with Copics Cool Shadow.
OWH Sketch #159
Welcome! Here's this week's sketch at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps blog:
When I saw the card that Marlene posted at the InLinkz gallery, I knew I'd be getting that Hero Arts OWH "All the Time" stamp set out; it's perfect for this week's sketch! Thanks for the inspiration, Marlene! Here's what I came up with:
DP: BoBunny Timepiece 6x6 pad; Stampin' Up brad; Ranger distress ink Tea Dye; Tim Holtz distressing tool. I also wanted to try Sandy's technique of "capturing" the ribbon in a brad. Lovve it! Thanks for stopping by!

One for the guys
Isn't it fun when you look over your digi files and realize you have one (or more) that you've never used? This "68 Camaro" digi is from Stamper's Best.
I had fun last night inserting the digi into a Word document and playing around with colors and different backgrounds. I didn't know I can alter black & white digis in Word to give them a vintage effect as well as other styles. Doh! This background is called "cement". The paper I used is My Mind's Eye 6x6 Portobello Road. I thought this kind of ribbon would be OK on a guy card. It reminds me of racing for some reason. I myself had a baby blue '66 Mustang -- my very first car that I bought myself... a loooong time ago, lol.I followed OWH Sketch 31; the two little strips are embossed with the Cuttlebug Diamond Plate folder. The little flat silver stick-ons were part of a package of multicolored ones I found at JoAnn's 'way back in 2010; they don't sell them any more but if anyone ever spots good flat "bling" like these let me know!! Have a good weekend!

An apple a day...
Welcome! I made this using the Cards In Envy blog sketch, below; it's a new blog and this is their first challenge! I also will post this at the Our Daily Bread Designs February challenge at OWH ; the challenge is to use fruit. I colored with Copics and the rubber stamp is from Lockhart Stamps; the white background paper is pre-embossed purchased at Michael's.
Thanks for stopping by! Wishing Cards In Envy lots of success!
Bailey pup rocks!
Here is my card for the Hambo Hoedown challenge, using their new Bailey Rocks digi. Bailey is the family pet and Hambo Stamps mascot. If you play in the Hoedown challenge, you can earn a freebie like this. The challenge was to use metal on the card. I added little metal hearts (Bailey is obviously playing a love song), paper clip, and my favorite, the tiny silver brad "earring":
I colored the digi with Copics and silver gel pen. I added Glossy Accents to Bailey's electric guitar and shades. I'll also post this at the Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown (cards for kids); I think a tween or teen would like this Bailey card! Thanks for stopping by and to Hambo for another fun challenge.

OWH Sketch & a fun C.A.S.E.
Hello and welcome! Here is this week's OWH Sketch #158:
I used a digi by Birdie Brown. It's a freebie at her blog's monthly freebie challenge. I had fun paper piecing this cute pin cushion!
I also made this card, CASEing some cute cards made with punches that Yolanda posted recently. I think I'll stamp Happy Birthday on the inside; there doesn't seem to be a good place on the outside...
Have a good week.

Birthday card for OWH Midwk Throwdown
Hi! I made a birthday card for a little boy using Whimsie Doodles "Blogger Boy" digi. I colored him with Copics (I had fun coloring his hair).
Enjoy the rest of your weekend; who are you rooting for in the Super Bowl? Thanks for stopping by.
Hambo Hoedown sketch challenge
Welcome! Hambo posted a sketch challenge this week:
I used Hambo's cute new "Snow Heart" digi and sentiment, a freebie to all who joined in the Hoedown last week! Authentique DP and Darice embossing folder; Copics.
I think I'll send this to one of my little great-nieces for Valentine's Day. Thanks for stopping by!
