A cute kitty called Pounce!
I made this card for the Seems a Little Sketchy challenge blog, where my friend and fellow OWH'er, Allison, is on the Design Team!
Here is the fun sketch to follow for the current challenge:
And here's my card:
As you can see, I sized it down to an A2 size. The image is a cute freebie digi called "Pounce" posted at Stretch 'N Bubbles, which is sponsoring the Seems a Little Sketchy challenge this week. It says at Stretch 'n Bubbles that the blog/store is undergoing big changes and they're having a sale. Glad I was able to use one of their cute digis!
A family friend has a big orange cat named, appropriately, Marmalade (love it). So I decided to go with an orange theme for my card, with touches of aqua, using scraps from my stash.
Thanks so much for visiting; it really brightens my day! Happy New Year!!

Thank You card for OWH Midweek Throwdown
The Midweek Throwdown challenge at Operation Write Home is to make thank you cards for our heroes to send home to their loved ones. The challenge is in appreciation of Dixie, who recently retired as our East Coast shipper! Yay, Dixie!
I went with my favorite vintage style for my thank you card:
The dress form image is DP from My Mind's Eye "Lost & Found" 6x6 DP Pad. The small rectangle DP piece is from Cosmo Cricket "Odds & Ends". Sorry, I don't have the name/maker of the background DP. The lace trim & button are from Stampin' Up. The sentiment is done in an alphabet set I recently got from Inspired Stamps. I really like the font. I double stamped it, first in SU Crumb Cake and then Memento Black on top.

OWH Sketch #101
Still working on cranking the mojo up again! For this card, I used DPs from My Mind's Eye (Quite Contrary - Jack & Jill 6x6 DP Pad). I was happy to see AC Moore had a few new 6x6 DP pads in new styles like this! I hope they keep up the improvement!
Thanks for stopping by! I'm sorry if I've been remiss in visiting my friends' blogs lately; I'll try to catch up!! Happy New Year!

OWH Sketch #100!
I can't believe it has been two weeks since I posted on my blog! My hip is a little better and, besides, I wasn't about to miss out on OWH's 100th sketch!! The stamps are from Lawn Fawn.
I felt a bit rusty making this card, but I've decided I have to replace my paper trimmer! It's not old, but it simply does not cut straight. (At least I'm pretty sure it's not me, lol)
Thanks for stopping by! Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah to you!

Getting Sentimental for OWH!
The new December challenge at OWH sponsored by Our Daily Bread Designs is to make a sentiment the central focal point of a card. ODBD is generously donating the shipping cost for each box of 25 cards for the troops! I chose to use one of the Wordies at MelonHeadz Illustrating. Owner Nikki is back from a brief hiatus and it is so great to have her back doodling her wonderful digis!
Thanks for stopping by.

OWH Sketch #98
Here is this week's sketch at OWH:
When I saw the big circle I remembered a sheet of stickers in my stash by Deja Views called "Travel Stickers" and I thought it would be fun to design a card around this big compass sticker:
The tiny stickers and corner stickers are all from the same sheet. The DPs are from the Butcher Block 8x8 tablet from Deja Views and the Bloc de Passepartout by Me & My Big Ideas. Definitely a masculine card! I stamped a nice big HELLO on the inside.

Hambo Snowball Fight!
This week's challenge at the Hambo Hoedown is to use this fun digi or another Hambo stamp and dry embossing. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Some pictures are worth a thousand words, which is why I didn't put a sentiment on this card!
Come back again soon.
OWH Midweek Throwdown: Use a digi!
I used this adorable Sliekje digi for my card:
Sliekje's cute kitty reminds me of vintage Valentines for kids. I colored the digi with black and grey Copics; I've never attached the ribbon this way but have seen Holley do it many times! The silver hearts are from JoAnn's and meant to be ironed on (I glued them on with ZipDry glue).
Thanks for stopping by; have a good weekend!
