Steamroller gatefold birthday card

This week's challenge at the Hambo Hoedown, sponsored by Hambo Stamps, is to make a gatefold card using the new Steamroller digi. It was the first time I made a gatefold, so that made this a new challenge for me. I decided to paper piece the steamroller; all that fussy cutting probably made my idea harder to carry out, lol. But I like the way the striped paper with the bow kinda looks like a birthday present being squished. The DSPs are Bazzill Basics Grandma's Feather Bed. That is a good heavy duty double sided DSP pack I've gotten a lot of use out of.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

Paper piecing/miss you

I have been having a lot of fun with this pink and black DSP pack (I think it was like $1 or something ridiculous like that) I found in a bin at AC Moore! I love paper piecing so I used a My Favorite Things Pure Innocence stamp that is actually a St. Patty's day stamp. She's hold a shamrock, so on one card I colored it as a flower and on the other I put in a flower brad with a dot of pearl pen. What I love most about these two little cuties are their SHOES, ooooh! I love making "patent leather shoes" with Glossy Accents!
Thanks for dropping by!

Sketch #77 card using a Create With TLC freebie!

When I saw this cute record freebie digi at Create With TLC I thought it would be fun to use with this very reasonable little teenybopper DP pack I found at AC Moore. My circles aren't exactly according to sketch; I just realized I forgot the 3 little embellies; and pay no mind to the off-center brad, (oops) but I think it's kind of cute!
I realized my printout of the digi was pretty bad so I put Glossy Accents over the black part of the record to enhance the black and make it shiny like a record. If it ever dries, lol, I'll be sending it to OWH!
Using these same DPs, I decided to make a paper ruffle card; this technique is in a tutorial over at the OWH Stars and Stamps blog:
Stay cool! Thanks for visiting.

Strawberries with a vintage French flair!

This is my second week playing in the Designed 2 Delight weekly freebie progressive challenge & I got mixed up with one of their other challenges that asked for a French or vintage flair! But, you know, it was a challenge and I enjoyed it. Strawberries are very romantic, oui?
Here are my ingredients:
Designed 2 Delight strawberries digi
DP: "toile" type DP is Recollections "Elegance" Printed Cardstock Paper (a
gorgeous 25-sheet pack I spotted at Michael's yesterday; love love it)
Paris map paper from Me & My Big Ideas "Journey" 5x7 Mat Pad
Black script paper: stash
Eiffel Tower and "amour" rubber stamps: Stampin' Up set
Victoria lace trim: Stampin' Up
Copics
Ranger Distress Ink in Orange Marmalade
Tim Holtz distress tool
Black sticker embellies from Joann's
Sometimes I remember to add my watermark, lol; it was made for me by Whimsy Stamps.
I'm also posting this card at Flourishes' Farm Fresh Challenge. This strawberry digi is so beautiful and what could be fresher than strawberries?
Come back and visit again soon. I love company and love your comments.

Cool Dog Round card: Hambo Hoedown!

The Hambo Hoedown challenge this week is to make a round card using this new Cool Dog digi. I need to get a circle cutter! I tried tracing the lid of one of my pots (not!) and then used my largest Nestie scalloped circle (I don't have the large plain Nestie circles yet). So it's a cute little "gift" card type size, hehe. Colored the cooldog with copics and embossed the scalloped circle with Tim Holtz ef -- I like the way it looks like a seashell now. Thanks for stopping by!

Flipflops!

Here is my card for this week's Designed to Delight progressive challenge, using their cute flipflops digi. Note the touch of purple bling I added to the flipflops. I just came back from a weekend at the beach and this reminds me of that feeling I love of the sand between your toes! Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas in July with Operation Write Home

My card works for OWH's Midweek Throwdown Challenge (Christmas in July) and the latest OWH Sketch, #76.
I picked up a Melissa Frances vintage DP pad and sheet of Christmas stickers when I went to the Great American Scrapbook Convention. The little green DP mat is from my stash. The distressed edges are inked with cranberry ink and that's cranberry ribbon. Ho ho ho!
